Provincial Leadership Updates

Dear Upper Midwest Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus. I am writing to share the recent leadership updates from our Province in a letter from Bishop Julian Dobbs.

Bishop Ray Sutton has resigned as Dean of the Province. Bishop Dobbs, who had been assisting Bishop Sutton, has now been appointed as Dean of the Province to carry out canonical responsibilities and duties of the Archbishop’s office.

In addition, the five senior bishops of the ACNA have voted unanimously to inhibit Archbishop Steve Wood. Bishop Dobbs states, “While an inhibition is a suspension from the exercise of ordained ministry…this action does not determine guilt or innocence, nor does it pre-judge any allegation or any future proceeding.”

This is a time for deep prayer. I invite you to join me in expressing our need for the Lord by praying the Great Litany, which you can find here.

Please pray for all the claimants, our Province in this leadership transition, Archbishop Wood and his family, and Bishop Dobbs as he guides our Province.

I also want to call us to fast and pray for the aforementioned prayer requests every Thursday or Friday during the season of Advent.

Finally, if you want to stay updated on Provincial news you can sign up here.

As we prepare for Christ the King Sunday and then Advent, let us draw close to the Lord who has drawn close to us. We can trust him.

Love,

+Stewart
